Ogden Cami; Or, the perfect top.

Hi again guys! Surprise I'm back! And with a top which I made quite soon after returning from Australia...

I had tried the Ogden cami last year, and was frustrated by the fact that it didn't fit and sat strangely. I decided this time to try a size down (size 10) and it turned out that's all I needed to do!


The fabric I used for this make is some kind of slinky poly from a shop (I don't remember which) on Goldhawk Road sometime last year. I don't normally go for this colour, but on that day it really spoke to me and I'm glad I went with it. I only bought a metre, so it's perfect for an Ogden.


The other issue with my very first Ogden was actually fabric choice, so between sizing down and changing fabric this was now perfect! I am currently working on 3 others - two in different lawns (one Liberty), and one in a sandwashed silk. I'm particularly excited for the silk one as it will be so luxe!



I don't think there's much else to say about the Ogden. Maybe next time I'll combine them into one post...

Evening all! It will be a short post tonight, and I also want to apologise for my face in these photos. I had to get these photos done and up today, but I'm ridiculously sick at the moment (and mostly still working, thanks to my profession). Sixties Awesomeness

Hi guys, long time no post! Sorry about that, I won't go into too much detail, but lately has been  busy and the weather has been less than excellent. But I had to come back now... When Tilly and the Button's newest pattern, Francoise, was released, I did a little happy dance. You can see from my other posts that I mostly make one kind of style - fitted bodice with a bigger skirt. But after I made my 3-quarter circle skirt (found here ), I had some fabric left over. In fact I thought I had just enough to make... A 60s a-line dress. (Anyone else a big fan of the children's book Something From Nothing? I loved it as a kid.) And just as I was about to go buy Simplicity 1609 , Tilly announced her new pattern, the Francoise!! It was a match made in heaven. Nautical Chic Dress - KS3682 x S2444

Hey everyone! So, it's been a month... My bad. I did warn you I was going back to work tomorrow... And work has been crazy, I've ended up with heaps of extra stuff to do, and unfortunately all of the crafty things have had to take a backseat for a little while. Hoping I can get things back to normal soon though! (Also slight apologies for the background today - we were experimenting with in-our-living-room photography with a sheet as a backdrop. Not so successful, but plenty good enough for the blog!) Today I have my latest dress to share with you - and I have to say, this time it looks exactly like what I saw in my head.
